Genealogy Field Trip and Documentation Series (New Class!)

Location: FSU Campus, The Claude Pepper Center, 636 W. Call St., Tallahassee, FL 32306
As you research your family history, an important first step is to conduct a thorough online search and record it properly in your database. But equally important is to identify repositories that hold resources/documents that you may need. Such on-site research visits can be complex, and may be overwhelming on your first visit. In this class you will discover tips to help your research trip experience be a positive one! Learn how to prepare for your upcoming visit to optimize your experience. Then understanding how to properly record your findings in Family Tree Maker. This class is 3 in person sessions as well as 3 on site visits. These field trips will be to new facilities we previously have not visited. Attendees will need to bring their laptop (PC and Mac Users) and mobile phone to follow along. SKILL REQUIREMENT: Familiarity with Windows and/ or Mac OS and using the Internet Class size limit: 15.

What is streaming? Does streaming cost money? What is the difference between on-demand streaming and live streaming? How can I get streaming on my TV? Join us to understanding streaming and how it works, what cost are involved, what type of internet connection you to use, and what devices you will need. Then most importantly you will learn how to find something good to watch. Attendees must be comfortable Basic Computer and Internet Skills. Class size limit: 15.
