Family Tree Maker (Total of 8 Classes)
In this class we are going to focus on preparing our tree for longevity! First, we will begin by making a backup of our FTM file/s to an external location and in the cloud. Then we will verify that your FTM has the most recent updates available. Learn how to download and install them as needed. After updates, first we will focus on cleaning up our FTM file/s by beginning with correcting typos and input errors. Then continue to work diligently to complete missing data. As well as, verifying accuracy with a citation and that includes a photocopy and/or image of the source. (Note: To help with your sourcing we will create a “Sourcing Cheat Sheet” for reference.) Ultimately, this class is in preparation of your goal to print a book of all your work to share with family members! Plans are to have a class in the Spring and/or Fall to produce your books. NOTE: Attendees must bring a laptop w/ Family Tree Maker 2019 to participate. Or attend and watch as the instructor demonstrates on the screen.
