Deanna D. Ramsey In 1994, after graduation, Deanna accepted an Instructor position with FUTUREKIDS® Computer Learning Centers in Panama City, teaching spiral based technology curriculum to children. She also instructed students in Special Interest Groups (SIGS): Logo®, Intellibots®, FUNdaMENTALS®, and HTML Programming. Deanna was later promoted to Program Development Coordinator in which she supervised The Center's instructors in implementation of FUTUREKIDS® curriculum and on location programs for contract schools. She developed course curriculum, course materials, and handouts used in adult classes and instructed adults, business groups and professional educators. Modeled class instruction of FUTUREKIDS® curriculum for professional educators in Bay, Jackson, Walton and Washington counties during the implementation of Sunshine State Standards. After the local FUTUREKIDS® franchise closed in 1998, Deanna began working as a private contractor and was contracted by Gulf Coast Medical Center to give in-house computer instruction for the hospital employees. This led to the creation of a computer curriculum for the hospital’s H2U* – Health, Happiness, You program. She has a great rapport with her students and is known for her signature training methods. In 2001, Deanna launched the H2U Computer program in Tallahassee at Capital Regional Medical Center (formerly Tallahassee Community Hospital). She has also created curriculum for the hospital and HCA Division employees and conducts training in Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003. Deanna expanded her curriculum in 2003 to include genealogy topics. She now offers classes on genealogy software such as: Family Tree Maker and online databases such as Ancestry, Genealogy, Heritage Quest and RootsWeb. *Formerly Senior Friends |
